DEC funds to benefit area families

The Cherokee Drug Endangered Children (DEC) team is happy to announce that it has been awarded a grant from the Cherokee County Legacy Foundation.

This grant allows the local DEC team to expand its efforts beyond helping substance abuse families only. DEC is now offering its services to low-income and at-risk families as well.

The DEC team is utilizing the grant funds to help families pay to enroll their children in the following activities:

School-sponsored sports/activites, city-sponsored sports/activities, Cherokee Wellness Center day passes, swimming pool, bowling alley, etc. passes, sports equipment/gear/clothing.

There is a $50 limit per family and the grant funds are for Cherokee County residents only.
