Labor Day weekend fun on tractors

Join the Little Sioux Red Power Tractor Club on their Labor Day Weekend activities.

On Saturday, Sept. 5, the club will leave the East Main green-space area (across from Norm's Body Shop) at 8:30 a.m. This ride will consist of a 58 mile ride throughout scenic Cherokee and Buena Vista counties. The group will stop at Lee Zylstras' of rural Alta, where they will view his tractor collection. A catered lunch will be served at the Zylstras' farm. Cost for this ride is just $8 for your lunch.

On Sunday, Sept. 6, the club will host their 2nd annual Relay for Life Poker Run. Meet at the Cherokee County Fairgrounds at 1 p.m. There will be several stops throughout Cherokee, as you try to get your winning hand. Cost to participate in the poker run in $10 with a 50 percent pay-out split for the top three winning hands. Everyone is welcome to participate in this fun event which benefits Relay for Life.

If you don't have a tractor, but would like to participate in the fun of either of these events, the "people mover" will be available for you to ride along and enjoy a relaxing day..
