AURELIA - The Aurelia Bulldog volleyball team opened their season at home Tuesday night against River Valley, and though the Wolverines won the match in three straight games, Bulldog coach Ann Dornack felt that her team played very well for their first match. RV won the second game by a 25-11 score, but the other games were tight, with scores of 25-23 and 25-21.
Ashley Anderson and Shaina Thevenin led the Bulldog girls in kills with 3 apiece, followed by Erin Laursen and Audrey Winterhof with 2 each. Laursen also had three ace serves and Ashley Anderson and Winterhof had two each. On defense, Stacie Glienke had four blocks and Erin Laursen three.
Coach Dornack said, "I think the girls will come together, build their confidence, and be the great team I know they can be. Dedication is strong."
