Sand Seeds hosts special guests

Friday, September 4, 2009

Recently Sand of Iowa Ag Services of Marcus hosted a very special envoy from Indonesia as part of the World Bank and United States Department of Agriculture Warehouse Examiner Training program. The group toured several federal warehouses within the United States, including sites in Colorado and Kansas. Among those warehouses was Sand of Iowa where the examiners followed US examiners and were briefed on warehouse storage procedures, record keeping, licensing, bookkeeping, inventory check-in and review. The group spent three days in Marcus learning about modern techniques on grain storage. The World Bank and Australia sponsored this trip and it's the hopes of the Indonesian envoy to bring back fresh ideas for orderly storage procedures for their main commodity of rice.
