CORRECTIONVILLE - Kingsley-Pierson defeated River Valley 25-6 in District football action here Friday night.

Ian Peterson scored the lone touchdown for the Wolverines, recovering a fumble in the end zone.

Quarterback Tate Rohde led the Panthers with 19 carries for 104 yards and a TD. Todd Bottorf rushed 13 times for 72 yards and a TD, and Matt Steffen rushed twice for four yards and a TD.

River Valley QB Andrew Volkert was 3-13 passing for 42 yards and one interception. He rushed three times for seven yards. Brody Riedeman was 1-8 passing for 15 yards and one pick. Cody Paris led the RV ground game with 22 carries for just 33 yards. Austin Hansen caught three passes for 32 yards, and Ryan Ketelsen caught two for 35 yards.

Peterson had two fumble recoveries as the Wolverines recovered six K-P fumbles. Also grabbing fumbles were Billy Pansegrau, Paris, Hansen, and Volkert. Hansen also had an interception.

Paris led the hard-working RV defense with 15 tackles, followed by Riedeman 10, Pansegrau eight, Volkert seven, and Hansen five.

Ross McNaughton led K-P in tackles with 11, and Taylor Pledl had nine.

RV (0-3) plays at 5th-ranked Akron-Westfield (3-0) Friday night in further Class 1A District action.
