All sophomores at Washington High School will take the PLAN test on Wednesday, September 30 on the WIT campus. Sophomores will report to school at the regular time. They will be bused to and from the WIT campus.
The testing time is scheduled from 8:15 to 11:00. Parents are asked to refrain from scheduling medical or other appointments for their sophomore students during this time period.
The PLAN has two sections. The first is an interest inventory that can help individual students identify career areas that match personal interests. The second section tests students in the areas of reading, language arts, math and science. These are tests of scholastic competence that can be used to predict ACT scores.
Results of the PLAN are interpreted in Writing II classes as a part of the career research paper project. The ACT is the college entrance exam taken by many juniors and seniors.
