HOLSTEIN - Buffalo Ridge couldn't put points on the scoreboard against a strong Humboldt defense and, as a result, dropped a 13-0 Class 2A District decision to the visiting Wildcats here Friday night.
Bison quarterback Seth Johnson completed 13-29 passes for 123 yards to lead the offense, as the Buffalo Rudge running game never got untracked. Johnson also rushed 14 times for nine yards.
Tight end Kyle Newell caught five passes for 71 yards to lead the Bison receivers, while Blake Woodke caught four passes for 23 yards, Kris Alesch two for 16, and Dillon Waters two for 13.

Colby Stephens led the busy Bison defense, figuring in on 17 tackles, followed by Austin Graff and Tyson Thorson 10 apiece, Spencer Snyder nine, Christian Bondinello and Greg Davis eight each, Michael Davidson six, and Andrew Stern and Newll five apiece.
Buffalo Ridge rang up 11 first downs in the game, and Humboldt registered 20.
Humboldt is coached by former Gala-Holstein football coach Greg Thomas. The G-H and Schaller-Crestland football programs now form Buffalo Ridge.
The Bison (2-3 and 1-1 in District play) travel to District foe East Sac County Friday night.
