The Lady Pirates were 71-76 serving as a team with seven aces, and registered 40 team digs and 26 team blocks. G-H was 60-72 hitting with 30 kills, and tallied eight blocks.
Brooke Wiese and heidi Rollefson led G-H in kills with eight apiece. Brea Slaybaugh totaled 15 assists to lead that category, whie Jaimie Christensen had eight. Ashley Buell led in assists with 13, and Wiese added nine.
Ace serve leaders were Wiese with three, and Victoria Andresen with two. Rollefson had three blocks, and Nicole Boyle two.
"We played well at times," said veteran G-H coach Scott Mitchell. "Our serving really kept them out of their offense. We did block well tonight, but had points where we were not as focused as wee need to be. Over all, it was a good win against a good team.
The Pirates are 12-6 in matches this season and 4-0 in the Western Valley Conference. The G-H JV team is 7-0, and the freshmen 9-0. They each won their matches against Westwood 3-0.
