Cherokee Zone LWML Fall Rally Held in Aurelia

The Fall Rally of the Cherokee Zone Lutheran Women Missionary League was held on Tuesday, Sept. 22 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Aurelia.

This year's theme was "Look to the Hills--God Reigns." There were 52 members, two guest and four Pastors who attended this event. The evening began at 6 p.m. with registration, coffee and a dessert buffet. Zone Counselor, Rev. Larry Lemke, gave opening Devotions.

The program was presented by Zone President Barb Huseman, who presented a report of the National Convention, held in June in Portland, Oregon.

A skit, entitled "Adventures of a Witness Woman" was presented by members of Christian Life Committee.

Election of officers was held. Vice President, Doris Dawson of Pilgrim, Quimby and Zone Counselor, Rev. Larry Lemke were re-elected to another term and Deb Jorgenson of Trinity, Marcus was newly elected to Secretary.

The group gathered their "Ingathering Items" of non-perishable food, paper products and cash donations were sent to Mid Sioux Inc. in Cherokee. Their offering was designated to support District Mites.

Zone Counselor Lemke gave closing Devotions and a Memorial Remembrance for recently deceased members.

An invitation to the Spring Rally to be held on April 10, 2010 at Trinity Lutheran in Cherokee was given by DeeAnn Fuhrman.
