Michael Ray "Mike" Libke Sr., 55, of rural Correctionville, died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009, at his home following a long illness.
Services were held at 10 a.m. on Monday at First Lutheran Church in Kingsley. Burial was in Kingsley City Cemetery. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at Rohde Funeral Home in Kingsley.
Mike was born July 22, 1954, in Cherokee, to Eldon and Mary (Brown) Libke. He graduated from Kingsley-Pierson High School in 1972.
He married Carole Roark in April 1993 in Anthon.
He was a farmer, truck driver and laborer.
He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Kingsley. His hobbies included woodworking, Nascar, fishing and spending time with his grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Karen Green.
Survivors include his wife, Carole of Correctionville; three daughters and their husbands, Chrissy and Shane Ellis of Cherokee, Kim and Joe Buechler of Sioux City and Becky and Jason Bergenske of Sioux City; three sons and their wives, Chris and Adrienne Libke of North Las Vegas, Nev., Michael Jr. and Melony Libke of Anthon and Austin Libke of Correctionville; two brothers, Rick of Anthon and Dennis of Hastings, Neb.; and 13 grandchildren, Mercedes and Chloe Ellis, Isabel Libke, Dallas, Autumn and Madison Larson, Drake, Matthew and Allysa Bergenske and Logan, Gage, Ashton and Cheyenne Libke.
