The Iowa Downtown Resource Center, housed at the Iowa Department of Economic Development (IDED) in Des Moines, is sponsoring a "Strategies to Revitalize Your Business" workshop in Cherokee on Wednesday, October 7.
The workshop is free of charge to attendees. Cherokee Area Economic Development Corporation is the host for the workshop, and lunch will be provided. The workshop will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Gathering Place, 207 W. Main St. in Downtown Cherokee.
Recognizing today's highly competitive marketplace requires some rethinking and retooling for businesses. This workshop will equip Iowa retailers and commercial business owners with new practices for success. Workshops will begin with a brief presentation from IDED about the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, which strengthens communities through infrastructure and community development projects.
Margie Johnson of Shop Talk will lead the workshop. Margie is a highly acclaimed speaker, trainer, author, and consultant who has developed customer-centered strategies that have given businesses the competitive edge needed to survive and thrive.
The Workshop will include factors shaping the retail landscape, successful customer retention strategies, extraordinary customer service and creative marketing, customer feedback mechanisms, and repositioning businesses in today's highly competitive marketplace.
