A 1 p.m. funeral service was held on Tuesday at the Norwalk Christian Church. Rev. Dayna Kinkade officiated. Burial was held in the Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry.
A memorial has been established to her church and contributions may be left at Murdock Funeral Home in Perry.
Irene was born Kewanee, Ill. on Oct. 26, 1919 to Seraphien and Ione Mosier Beyn. She lived most of her life in Cherokee where she was married to Dale W. Scott. She was the supervisor at Cherokee Mental Hospital. She and her husband moved to Perry in 1963. He became the administrator and Irene was the supervisor of the dietary department at the Rowley Memorial Masonic Home. She was a 50-year plus member of the Eastern Star.
Irene is preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1974 and one brother.
Irene is survived by her sons, Ron (Bev) Scott of Waukee, Roger (Nancy) Scott of Texas and Richard (Ty) Scott of Colo.; nineteen grandchildren; and thirty great-grandchildren; and three great great-grandchildren.
