Laurence E. Ehrich
Laurence Edward Ehrich, 88 of Evening Shade, Ark. and former Cherokee resident, passed away Saturday Oct 3, 2009 at his home in Evening Shade, Ark.. Larry was born on Aug. 8, 1921 in Cherokee, to Harry and May (Rohl) Ehrich. He married Irma (Daisy) Henderson March 11, 1942 while serving in the Armed Services in Glendale, Calif. He spent many years running his tin shop in Cherokee, farmed from 1963 until he moved to Evening Shade in 1978, he built their home himself and retired there. He enjoyed all kinds of crafts; hand-working copper into pictures was a special joy. He was always creating something. He was preceded in death by his parents, four siblings, his son, Terry Ehrich and his wife Diane (Sump) Ehrich, and a son Joe Ehrich. Survivors include his daughter, Kae Ehrich Soost and her husband Howard, Arlington, Minn., daughter-in-law Connie McDermott of Evening Shade, Ariz. daughter-in-law Sally (Shea) Ehrich, Bosemann , Mont., brother Floyd Ehrich (Betty) of Cherokee, sisters Mildred Moses of Madison, Wisconsin, Lois (Bob) Montogomery of Glendale, Ariz..; Arlene (Dick) Deichmann of Venice, Fla. grandchildren, Joshua Soost, New Brighton, Minn., Daniel Soost and his fianc»e Bethany Whiteley of Bella Vista, Ark., Jennifer Soost, Sioux Falls, S.D. , Deanna Soost, Delano, MN. Chad Ehrich Delano, Minn., Amy (Mathew) Brown, Newark, Ark., Matt (Amanda) Spiller, Broomfield, Colo. Jean (Tom) Harrington , great grandchildren, Cameron and Joe Spiller Broomfield, Colo., Catherine, Ashlynne and Camden Brown, Newark Ark., Zach, April, Ryan, Scott, Kyle and Molly Harrignton, Evening Shade, Ark. Very special "adopted family" Wayne Crabb, Mike Bridwell and Andrea Kazemba, Evening Shade, Ariz. Numerous nieces and nephews. Private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
