CHARTER OAK - The Aurelia Bulldogs and the host Charter Oak-Ute Bobcats were tied at the half here on Friday night, 8 - 8, before four third quarter touchdowns by the Bobcats left the Bulldogs facing a 34-8 deficit as the 4th quarter began. Coach Grant Peckenschneider's 'Dogs didn't give up, though. They scored on a 42-yard run by Jacob Howey and a 15-yard pass from Steven Handwork to Austin Glawe in the final stanza, but it was not enough to overcome the Bobcats' third quarter explosion, and the final score read Charter Oak-Ute 34, Aurelia 20.
Seniors Jacob Howey and Taylor Witzel led the Bulldogs' ground attack, with Howey gaining 97 yards on 26 carries and Witzel gaining 29 yards on 9 carries. Both scored a touchdown.
