I don't know about you, but I'm not ready for that yet! Of course, when you live in Iowa you have to ready for just about anything. So get out your long sleeved shirts, longer pants, and a little heavier coat and head on over to the Cherokee Public Library.
Every Tuesday is preschool story time at the Cherokee Public Library from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Fall stories, crafts, songs, and rhymes are just a few of the activities that can be enjoyed. So come and enjoy the fun.
The programs for the younger children and youth groups have begun. The Toddlers Story Time will meet again Thursday, Oct. 8 from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. This program is for children ages one through three and their parents. Since we meet just once a month come dressed for Halloween fun. There'll be singing, dancing, finger plays, and rhymes.
The Homeschoolers group will meet at the library on Wednesday, Oct. 14 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Information about possible field trips will be shared.
The Youth In Action group will meet Thursday, Oct. 15 from 3:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. for some Halloween fun. Don't forget to ride bus #3 to the library.
Some new books have just arrived at the library for middle school aged youth.
The Candy Apple Books shares stories of young girls as they deal with issues like friendship, popularity, and first crushes. Here are just a few of the titles: 1) The Accidental Cheerleader, 2) The Boy Next Door, 3) Miss Popularity, 4) How to Be a Girly Girl in Just Ten Days. There are ten books in all.
Hannah Montana, otherwise known as Miley Stewart, has just arrived at the Cherokee Public Library and she's anxious to share her stories about the ups and downs of being a pop-star and trying to live a normal life. Come check out her books to see how she deals with friends, family, and unexpected adventures.
The Young Adult section of the library has added a new series, The Immortals. The opening book, Evermore, will thrill many teen fantasy-suspense readers, especially fans of Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series. When you finish reading the first book you can check out book two of the series, Blue Moon.
