Victoria Andresen and Brooke Wiese had nine and eight kills, respectively, for G-H at the net, while Brea Slaybaugh had 16 assists and Jaime Christensen dished out 14. Shannon Rohlk had four ace serves, but GH Coach Scott Mitchell was disappointed with his team's service on the whole, saying "We struggled with our serving tonight. We only served 86%, and it's really tough to win big games serving that percentage."

On defense, G-H was led in digs by Andresen with 12 and Ashley Buell with eight, while Heidi Rollefson had four blocks at the net, and Nicole Boyle and Courtnie Voss had two each.

Coach Mitchell summarized the loss by saying, "I'm sure the girls are disappointed, but we need to understand the importance of every point, and right now we don't."

Galva-Holstein's season mark now stands at 16-9, while their conference record is 4-2.

G-H also dropped the JV match, 2-1, and the freshmen tied at one game apiece. The JV's loss was their first of the season after eight wins, and the tie put the freshman team's mark at 10-0-1.

The Lady Pirates varsity played in a tournament at MVAO on Saturday, and will finish up their regular season with a home match against Odebolt-Arthur/Battle Creek-Ida Grove on Senior Night, Thursday the 15th, then playing in the Sioux City Bishop Heelan Tournament on Saturday the 17th. They will start District Tournament play at home, against Storm Lake St. Mary's, on Wednesday October 21.
