PAMH welcomes new staff members

Valorie Jacobs
Patrick Schmitz, Executive Director is pleased to announce that Kelly Mitchell and Valorie Jacobs have joined the staff at the Cherokee office of Plains Area Mental Health, Inc.

Kelly completed her Master's degree in May as a Marriage and Family Therapist from Sioux Falls Seminary. She has experience working with various races, ethnicities and ages. Her background and skills in working with parents, guardians and children of abuse will make her a good fit with our staff in Cherokee. Kelly will also spend two days a week in our Storm Lake office.

Valorie received her Master's degree in Forensic Psychology from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City, NY. She specializes in providing cognitive and behavioral treatment to juvenile sexual offenders. Valorie has had experience working at Cherokee Mental Health Institute and Forest Ridge Youth Services. Her expertise with the juvenile court system will add yet another aspect to the services provided at Plains Area Mental Health, Inc. Valorie will be working part time on Tuesdays in our Cherokee office.

We are pleased and excited that Kelly and Valorie will be providing services at Plains Area Mental Health, Inc. Plains Area Mental Health is a non-profit community mental health center providing counseling services to residents of Plymouth, Sioux, Cherokee, Ida and Buena Vista Counties.
