Bulldogs fall to Rockets, 52 - 0

REMSEN, Iowa -- Remsen-Union blanked Aurelia 50-0 in 8-player District 1 action here Friday night.

Colby Felts set the stage by returning the opening kickoff 66 yards for a touchdown. Kraig Alesch carried 15 times for 81 yards and a touchdown, and Josh Bohnenkamp had a pair of touchdown runs for R-U, now 6-2 overall and 5-1 in the district.

Aurelia fell to 1-7 overall and 1-5 in the district. They were led in rushing Friday night by Steve Berg and Kyle Menke, who each gained 23 yards and Jacob Howey, who netted 20 yards on 12 totes. Quarterback Berg attempted 8 passes, but did not complete any and had two of his aerials intercepted. Taylor Witzel had 30 tackles to lead the 'Dogs defensive effort, while fellow seniors Jacob Howey and Elliot Zadow had 21 and 15 stops, respectively.

The Bulldogs wrap up their season Friday night with another trip to Remsen, where they will face the 9th- ranked St. Mary's Hawks (8-0).
