Cherokee Trick or Treat Costume Parade

Thursday, October 22, 2009

The Cherokee Chamber of Commerce will sponsor the annual Trick or Treat Costume Parade on Main Street on Saturday, Oct. 31 starting at 1 p.m.

Check in will be at the Fire Station between 12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m.

Last year almost 250 children participated in the parade. Participants are asked to remember weather will play a factor in the turnout so dress accordingly.

The parade route will be west from the Fire Station onto 4th Street to Main Street, west to 5th Street, across the street and then west on Main Street to Curves/Electric Beach, then east on Main Street to 1st Street, across the street and west on Main Street to 4th Street, then south on 4th Street and back to the Fire Station to hand out goodie bags.

For businesses not located on Main Street, you have the opportunity to donate items (candy, food items, pencils, stickers, tokens or coupons etc). All items will be put in a "goodie bag" and distributed to the children at the end of the parade. Please bring your items to the Chamber Office by October 23.

The Chamber also is in need of volunteers to help with the Trick or Treat Parade to help check children in, help with street crossings, and to hand out bags at the end of the event.

Please call or e-mail the Chamber if you can volunteer on Saturday, October 31.
