QRS is a voluntary program that gives childcare settings guidelines on improving their quality of childcare. By participating, they have chosen to demonstrate their desire to improve the quality of care and education their children receive.
QRS has five levels indicated by the number of stars on the providers QRS certificate.
* Level One-programs meet the state requirements for childcare center licensing-including criminal and child abuse record checks.
* Level Two-programs have agreed to work with a childcare nurse consultant, have provided staff orientation, and have assessed the skills of their staff.
* Level Three ñ Five programs have earned additional credit for education and experience, training, health and safety compliance, and working with parents.
All QRS programs, regardless of their level, have made a commitment to providing quality care to the children they serve. Each program awarded a star rating must wait an additional year to apply for a higher rating. Bright Beginnings is continually working to improve their quality of care and will be working this year towards meeting the requirements for a level 4 star rating.
