Ege in WWBA Baseball Tournament

Cherokee All-State senior Cody Ege, who has been playing fall baseball with Perfect Game and the Iowa Select team, has been picked up by Bo Jackson's Midwest Team of Chicago, Ill. to play in the WWBA (World Wood Bat Association) Championships in Jupiter, Fla. now under way through Monday.

Bo Jackson is schedued to make a suprise visit and spend a few days with the team in Florida.

The WWBA Tournament is pool play, followed by single elimination of pool winners to determine the Champion. Every D-1 college and Major League Baseball teams will be represented and scouting the 80 teams involved. The tourney is played at the Roger Dean Sports Complex, the MLB spring training home of the Cardinals and Marlins.

Bo Jackson's Midwest Team will play Ontario, Canada Blue Jays; East Cobb Georgia Astros; Royals Baseball Club of Kansas City; and Mid-Atlantic PG Orange of West Long Branch, New Jersey.
