Dandy will be replacing Marilyn Peck who is retiring after nearly 30 years of service to Careage Hills and the former Hilltop Care Center.
Dandy will be relocating to Cherokee from Spencer. He has held a variety of positions in a variety of professions. He recently completed his practicum as required for Nursing Home Administrators at the West Bend and Rolfe Care Centers, sister facilities to Careage Hills. While this is Dandy's first Nursing Home Administrator position, he has spent a great deal of his life with exposure to nursing homes, as his father is a long-time Administrator, often living on the campus of the nursing home.
Dan Myers, Careage's President, says the hiring of Dandy brings mixed emotions. "We are really excited to have Tron joining Careage Hills. He brings great experiences from other professions that will help him continue the legacy of outstanding care and service at Careage Hills. But, at the same time, we will miss Marilyn Peck. She was a very integral part of Careage Hills, establishing itself as a premier nursing facility. We are extremely grateful to her."
Dandy talks about the opportunity that awaits him. "On one hand, this will be a challenge to follow Marilyn. Those are big shoes to fill. What will help me is the outstanding staff that Careage Hills has. I will work closely with them to ensure that the outstanding level of service that the Cherokee community has come to know and expect will continue."
A retirement open house in honor of Marilyn Peck is to be held on November 1st from 2:00 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Careage Hills.
Careage Hills is located at 728 N. 2nd St. in Cherokee. It is licensed for 44 beds and is certified by both Medicare and Medicaid.
