Paul L. Prange, 94, longtime Cherokee, resident, passed away Tuesday morning, Oct. 27, 2009 in the Holstein Good Samaritan Center.
Funeral and Masonic services will be held on Friday, Oct. 30 at 10:30 a.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee. Rev. Magrey deVega will officiate. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Cherokee. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. today at the Boothby Funeral Home. On line condolences may be left at www.boothbyfuneral.com.
Paul was born on July 15, 1915 at Washta to A.T. "Gus" and Maude (Munson) Prange. He graduated from Washta High School in 1932 and then attended Junior College in Cherokee for two years. He worked for Cherokee County Maintenance Department for several years and he enjoyed working on electronics. Paul was an avid ham radio operator. He and his wife would spend the weekends at their cabin at the lakes and go fishing. He also enjoyed camping and gardening. He was a 50 year member of Speculative Masonic Lodge #307 A.F & A.M. in Cherokee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Kathryn on Dec. 9, 1994, and three brothers.
He is survived by one sister: Alys Henderson of Manchester and several nieces and nephews.
