Wrestling clinic/forum here Saturday

Friday, November 6, 2009

Cherokee Washington High will host a free wrestling clinic/forum Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Area athletes, coaches, officials, and parents are encouraged to attend and interact with Aaron Wernimont, a two-time National Champion from Wartburg College. His topic will be - "Attacking off your opponent's shot, and using his tie-up to score."

Jerry Middleton, a rules interpreter for the State of Missouri, will speak to officials about officiating issues.

Jim Miller, Wartburg wrestling coach, will also give a talk about "Building a Championship Team."

There is no charge for the clinic/forum Saturday, however a free-will donation bucket will be available.

The event is organized by Cherokee native Dewey Hupke, an Iowa prep wrestling coach and official at Pocahontas Area/Pomeroy-Palmer.
