As a public/private entity we rely heavily on the donations of individuals and businesses. Your support allows us to accomplish our goal of economic growth in Cherokee County.
The 2008-09 fiscal year saw many businesses in Cherokee County start-up or expand, despite a gloomy national economic outlook. We saw 11 new businesses open their doors and 12 existing businesses expand current operations.
Fiber-optic cable is now available in two Cherokee County communities, with plans to complete a third. We were able to assist a new business venture through our IRP and made available other start-up incentives to area businesses. Our partnerships with the Cherokee Industrial Corporation, Marcus for Progress/ Marcus Main Street, and the Aurelia Economic Development Corporation, and the eight municipal governing bodies continue to yield business growth opportunities for the whole of Cherokee County
The Cherokee Area Economic Development Corporation Board and the staff feel a deep dedication to Cherokee County. It is our home; it is where we are in the process of raising the next generation of leaders for our communities. It is vitally important that the work of CAEDC continues so that the next generation will have jobs and a quality of life that will entice them to return once they have completed their education. They will have a strongly vested interest in keeping Cherokee County growing, thriving....succeeding.
Please take time to consider the investment you can make in your community, your county and your children's future by contributing to CAEDC. It's a sure thing that the money you invest today will pay great dividends in your future, the future of your family, and all those who will choose to make Cherokee County the place they call home.
Your investment is greatly appreciated. We hope you will give generously to support the Cherokee Area Economic Development Corporation's efforts.
