Coach Nash named Coach of the Year

SIOUX CITY - Morningside College's Dave Nash has been named the 2009 Hauff Mid-America Sport/Great Plains Athletic Conference Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year. Nash led the Mustangs to a third place finish at last Saturday's GPAC Cross Country Championships in Fremont, Nebraska, where the Mustangs qualified for the upcoming NAIA Cross Country National Championships for the first time in school history. Morningside was ranked 12th nationally in the final regular season NAIA poll.

In addition to Nash's honor, the Mustangs' Erin Keitges, a senior from Allen, Nebraska and Kara Nelson, a junior from Cherokee, were each named to the All-GPAC Women's Cross Country team. Keitges earned all-GPAC honors for the fourth time in her career while Nelson received the honor for the third time.

The 2009 NAIA Cross Country National Championships will be held on Saturday November 21 at the Fort Vancouver Historical Site in Vancouver, Washington.
