Following each Trysts, refreshments will be provided by the women from Memorial Presbyterian Church and St. Paul's Methodist Church.
Participating in the services with messages and music are Reverend Ethan Saylor, Reverend Magrey de Vega, both of Cherokee and Reverend Missy Brown of Aurelia. Opal Wharton, Julee Abrahamson and Betty Point will lead the music; students, Libby Peterson and Mariah Clyde will sing on Dec. 2.
Memorial Presbyterian Church originally began celebrating the Advent Tryst Service nearly forty years ago. It has become a tradition in Cherokee. In recent years, the Methodist and Presbyterian women have joined together to make this the joyful event it is today.
Donated mittens, scarves and hats will adorn the Christmas tree. Monetary gifts are also appreciated. Julie Paulsen, the Cherokee School nurse or her representative on Dec. 23, will collect all. After this service, these items will be distributed to area school children.
Worship, music, lighting Advent candles and fellowship help the celebration of Christ's birth expressing Hope, Peace, Joy and Love.
