Preprints now available online

Monday, November 30, 2009

In addition to finding local news, sports, a community calendar and hundreds of photos, visitors to www.chronicletimes.com can now find coupons, inserts and other bargains.

The Chronicle Times is among a group of community newspaper companies from across the United States that have joined forces to launch Zip2Save.com, a national website that features online preprints, coupons, deals, travel specials and more. Local merchants will also be able to post preprints, coupons and promotions at affordable rates.

There is a link on the front page of chronicletimes.com that takes readers to Zip2Save.com. This national site, searchable down to zip code level, was modeled after the highly successful Canadian site - flyerland.ca, and provides a place for consumers that prefer the Internet as their method of delivery for advertising circulars, sales, deals, coupons and more.

In addition to the deals found on Zip2Save.com, grocery and health and beauty coupons can be found on the Chronicle Times website, under the "coupons" tab, as well as the columns written by Jill Cataldo, the self proclaimed "Coupon Queen."

The Chronicle Times is among more than 1,000 newspapers representing more than 6.4 million circulation participating in Zip2Save.com. Users will be able to register for weekly reminders and will also be able to choose an update option from their favorite retailers that will provide them with an alert when a new preprint is posted.

"Newspapers have always played an important role in connecting readers and advertisers," commented Paul Struck, Chronicle Times Editor. "Zip2Save is the next step in the evolution of the process."
