Dr. Jeff Held and Dr. Larry Holler from South Dakota State University will discuss cost of gain and lamb health at a Lamb Meeting on Dec. 14. The meeting will be from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Downtown Orange City Health System.
"Both Dr. Held and Dr. Holler are nationally recognized experts in the sheep industry," states Beth Doran, ISU Extension Beef Program Specialist. Held will visit about simple changes in management to reduce the feed bill and improve the bottom-line. Dr. Holler will discuss common health problems in feedlot lambs and how to prevent them. Both sheep specialists will share what they have learned about lung lesions in feedlot lambs.
Registration ($10/person) for the meeting is due Dec. 9 at the Sioux County Extension Office. For more information, contact Beth Doran at 712-737-4230 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
