The Cherokee Tiel Sanford Museum is now accepting entries for the 2010 "Beauty of Northwest Iowa" photo contest.
There is no age limit and both professional and amateur entries will be accepted. Entries must be original photos, taken by the entrant. The photos must be 8 x 10 inches in size and all photos are to be loose, no mats, frames allowed.
All photos must be taken in Northwest Iowa and all entries must be suitable for display, no bends, folds, wrinkles, curls or smears.
All photos must be labeled on the back with title, name, phone number and address. Entries can be rejected for any reason.
Award for first place is $100, second place is $50 and third place is $25.
All perspective contestants must complete the pre-register form by December 11 (you can pick up the form at the Museum). All entries must be delivered to the Sanford Museum during the week of Dec. 21 through Dec. 30.
All photos will be on display at the Sanford Museum from January 8 to February 12.
On January 23 at 7:30 p.m. there will be a gallery talk from the judges and there will be an artists' reception and awards will be given out at this time. All photos must be picked up at the Museum during the week of February 13.
The Museum will be taking one of two photos that the artist feels demonstrates the beauty of Northwest Iowa.
