The Hospice 'Trees of Light' lighting ceremony was held last Tuesday night at Cherokee Regional Medical Center. Trees were also lit in Marcus, Aurelia and Holstein and all will remain lit throughout the holiday season. These lighted trees are a special way of remembering friends and loved ones. There was a short service of music, poetry, prayer and the reading of the names of those being remembered. A group of 90 attended the ceremony in Cherokee, and the social that followed was also well- attended.

The money that is raised through this holiday tradition helps Hospice continue to serve and provide end-of-life and bereavement care in the area. Photo contributed
