'Black & Gold' Baseball Camp Dec. 27

Accomplished instructors hike Camp's value

Cherokee Washington High varsity baseball coach Scott Koch will host the annual Black & Gold Baseball Instructional Camp from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 27, for players in grades 6-12.

Grades 6-8 will be at WHS gym from 1-2:30 p.m. for pitching and catching instruction, and at the former Harley-Davidson building on North Second Street from 2:45-4:15 p.m. for hitting instruction.

Grades 9-12 will be at the Harley-Davidson building from 1-2:30 p.m. for hitting instruction, and at WHS gym from 2:45-4:15 p.m. for pitching and catching.

There will be a question/answer time at 4:30 p.m. at WHS gym following instruction.

Camp instructors will be coach Koch, Cherokee and Buena Vista University assistant coach Steve Sonka, Swing Surgeon Hitting School owner Jay Kilpatrick of Sioux City, assistant Sioux Central coach and noted collegiate player Kyle Rehnstrom, former Coe College hitting coach Chad Osler now of Cherokee, South Dakota State pitcher Jared Koch, Texas &M Corpus Christie player Cory Ege, and University of Louisville player Matt Koch.

Jared and Matt Koch, and Ege, are former Braves all-staters who played or are playing Division I collegiate baseball.
