I almost forgot to write to you this year. It's been so busy at the Cherokee Public Library that December has slipped away and we're looking at Christmas happening this week. I hope you don't mind a last minute list but there are some things the library staff would really like to have.
Judy, of course, always wants computers. And we need them! Ours are more than 5 years old and we all know that's ancient in the tech world. If you can spare new machines for the children's department, we'll try to keep all the others going until next year. A few printer cartridges wouldn't hurt either.
Peg would like an audience. She does great programs but we need kids to come in and participate. We'll do our part with publicity but could you give some parents a nudge and let them know how much fun their children can have at the library? Please bring Peg some pencils too. She uses them a lot.
All of the part time people agree they could use hand sanitizer, kleenex, disinfectant spray and a telephone that automatically dials the right number for people who have changed or disconnected theirs. Some stamps, pens that write and a bunch of copy paper would also be welcome. Oh, if you have an elf that would be available off season on Saturdays, it would really make them happy.
And me? Well, an extra week of vacation would be great, but I'll settle for getting the roof fixed before the spring rains start. I'm a little tired of looking at the stained ceiling tiles in my office so new ones would be a good idea.
Thanks, Santa. You've been good to us through the years and we appreciate everything!
