It's hard to believe that the year of 2009 will soon be over. December thirty-first we will turn the page on our calendars and welcome in the new year of 2010.
But, before we do let's go back and say good-bye to the months of 2009. Good-bye to January's snow and frost. Good-bye to February and its valentine hearts. Good-bye to March winds and April rains and good-bye to May's daisy chains. Good-bye to June with the woods all green. Good-bye to July with its star spangled sky.
Good-bye to August all hot and lazy and September school bells ringing. Farewell to October with colors we'll always remember, and the pumpkin pies in the month of November. And last but not least, good-bye to December that brings us cheer and helps us remember all the wonderful happenings of this past year.
The month of December is almost at an end and the library has more programs to offer to the young library friends.
Today will be the New Year's party at the library. Come and listen to a New Year's Eve story, make a New Year's Eve mask, and play some balloon games for some end of the year fun. All ages are welcome. Preschoolers must have a companion with them. The program will be from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Saturday, Jan. 9 the Terrific Toddlers half hour program for one through threee year olds will begin at 10:30 p.m. This is a time for parents and their children to spend some time together learning new rhymes, fingerplays, songs, and stories. There will be time to look at books after the program. So all one through three-year olds bring a responsible person and join us for story time at the library.
Happy New Year to one and all.
