American Red Cross Disaster Action Team

Monday, January 11, 2010

The Cherokee County American Red Cross is in need of Volunteers to assist in times of Disaster.

DAT (Disaster Action Team) Members are needed to respond if it is for a single family fire, multiple apartment fire, tornado, or some other disaster.

To be a DAT Member does take some preliminary paper work and training, all of which are free to those interested. Classes are being set up for training in January and February, possibly in Spencer. Once you have received the proper training you can choose to respond in the Cherokee area only or volunteer if you wish to go to other areas that may need help.

If you are interested you can call Marilyn Reitsma at Cherokee County ARC 225-4507.
