SL's big 2nd quarter sinks Ridge View boys, 63-42

SCHALLER - The Ridge View boys played an excellent first quarter in a non-conference basketball game against Storm Lake here on Monday , taking a 12-6 lead into the second quarter. Ridge View ccoach Shannon Tesch said, "Our defense in the second quarter let us down. Eventually, Storm Lake's athleticism and depth were just too much for us." In that second quarter, the Tornadoes outscored the Raptors 27 -11 to take a 33-23 half-time lead. They added another seven points to their lead in the third quarter and ended up beating the Raptors by a score of 62-43.

Isaiah Miller led Ridge View with 22 points and nine rebounds, and Christian Bondinello added 12 points and seven rebounds. Pel Deng (15 points), Trey O'Brien (12), and Michael McCabe (10) all scored in double figures to pace the Lakes Conference Tornadoes.

The Raptors fell to 2-7 with the loss and faced Odebolt-Arthur/Battle Creek-Ida Grove at Holstein on Tuesday before traveling to Alta on Friday and West Monona on Saturday.
