Ridge View boys fall to Ar-We-Va

Wednesday, January 13, 2010

WESTSIDE - Ridge View Raptors boys basketball coach Shannon Tesch said his team played very well for three quarters in their Western Valley Conference game against Ar-We-Va here on Saturday.

"Unfortunately," said Tesch, "we lost our composure in the 4th quarter, when things weren't going well. This was a tough loss. You expect to be able to close out the game with a lead in the 4th quarter."

The Raptors were ahead, 40-38, going into the 4th, but were outscored 13-4 in the final quarter to lose 51-44.

Isaiah Miller led Ridge View with 13 points and nine rebounds, Seth Johnson scored 11 and had three boards, and Christian Bondinello had eight points and four boards.

Kyle Lenz scored 15 to pace Ar-We-Va, while Neil Lichte added 12 points and Ryan Schurke nine for the Rockets.

The Raptors were 2-6 on the season heading into a non-conference game at Storm Lake on Monday. They entertained Odebolt-Arthur/Battle Creek-Ida Grove at Holstein on Tuesday, and play at Alta on Friday.
