CORRECTIONVILLE - In a non-conference boys basketball game here on Tuesday, the River Valley Wolverines overcame a lot of missed free throws, and with tremendous hustle and defense were able to gain a huge victory over a good Remsen Union team, 46-44. The Wolverines' Austin Hansen continued to show why he is one of the best players in the area with a 19 point, 10 rebound, five steal performance, while back court mate Sam Lundt added 14 points, five assists, and four steals to key the RV victory. Andrew Volkert led the team in rebounding with 11, despite being out-sized considerably underneath the hoop, while Ryan Kettelson added four key steals for the Wolverines.
RV coach Dean Norris said, "I am very proud of the way these kids play so hard as they find a way to get loose balls, run down rebounds, and play defense. River Valley's record now stands at 6-4.
