In the bag

Wednesday, January 20, 2010

A small group of Cherokee County 4-H members and their parents have been shucking and bagging ear corn as part of a "squirrel corn" fundraising project. Shown making a delivery to the local Bomgaars store are (clockwise from upper right) Marlin, Maverick, Mitchell and Marshall Stief, Cavalier and Stockmen 4-H Club members. In addition to Bomgaars, the Cherokee Hy-Vee and Fareway stores have also been partnering with the 4-H'ers to sell their corn. This project is one of several that Cherokee County 4-H'ers have been undertaking to help raise funds for the 4-H Facilities Betterment Project at the Cherokee County Fairgrounds. Photo contributed
