RV boys comeback falls short

CORRECTIONVILLE - The River Valley boys battled back from an 11-point deficit against a 10-4 Lawton Bronson team in Western Valley Conference basketball action here on Friday night, only to have a 3-point shot rim out at the buzzer, giving LB a 69-66 win.
Austin Hansen led RV in scoring with 18 points, while Ryan Kettelson added 13 and Sam Lundt 12. Andrew Volkert had 10 rebounds for the Wolverines, who "continue to play hard and fight to the final whistle," in the words of their coach, Dean Norris.
Norris said he was very proud of the effort shown by the Wolverines, whose record now stands at 8-6 for the season. Norris felt that a 29 to 12 difference in free throw attempts played a huge role in game, as L-B outscored RV by 12 from the free throw line.
