The Computer Genies of NW Iowa will meet on Feb. 6 at 1 p.m. in the Public Library, at 46 1st Street Southwest, Le Mars. They will be meeting will be held 30 minutes earlier then normal.
The program will start at 1 p.m. with discussions on the use of Google Maps, County Plat Books and Atlas, and GPS in locating birth, death, burial and census and current resident locations, in genealogical research. The club meeting will start about 3 p.m. Guests are welcome at no charge.
The Computer Genies of NW Iowa is a genealogy club formed to create and foster an interest in the use of the computer for genealogical and historical research.
Their meetings are held the first Saturday of the Month in various towns in North West Iowa.
The amount of family history and genealogical information available "0n Line" is increasing at a phenomenal rate and we seek to help our membership keep abreast of this explosion of family and historical information.
They conduct monthly meetings that include clinics and programs of interest to those using the computer for family research, preparing family histories and programs of general historical interest as well as document, picture, and artifact preservation.
