The Cherokee Youth Football League (CYFL) is hosting a raffle fundraiser now under way featuring as prizes a John Deere rider mower, and a Bronc Colt 49CC moped.
The John Deere mower is an LA 105, 19-horse with a 42-inch deck valued at $1,499 retail, and the moped is valued at $1,099. Raffle tickets are $20 and the first winner gets their pick of the prizes. Builder's Sharpening & Service has donated the riding mower, and Holzhauer Motors has donated the moped.
The big CYFL fundraiser will be at Western Iowa Tech Community College Friday and Saturday, Feb. 19-20. There will be a free-will offering meal of taverns, soup, cookie and drink to be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. both Feb. 19 and 20 at WITCC. The food is donated by ICON AG.
The drawing for the raffle items will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20 at WITCC. You need not be present to win.
There also will be a used equpment sale run in conjunction from Builder's and Holzhauer's Feb. 19-20 at WITCC Conference Center, with a portion of those proceeds benefiting the CYFL.
The CYFL is raising the money to help purchase its own equipment for the youth football program for grades 3-6. The CYFL features four teams each fall participating in a Northwest Iowa league.
Raffle tickets are now available at the Hy-Vee Food Store service desk, Creative Services, and next to the Athletic Boosters stand at the Cherokee-Le Mars high school basketball games tonight at Washington High School.
