Wednesday, February 17, 2010

SIOUX CITY - Morningside College had two school record-breaking performances by Mustang women's track athletes at Friday's Dordt Invitational indoor track meet in Sioux Center.

Kara Nelson, a junior from Cherokee, did not win the 3,000 meter run, finishing second in a time of 10:19.56, but her time broke the old school mark of 10:20.70, set by Erin Keitges in 2009.

Jessica Hudelson, a sophomore from Elk Point, S.D., won the women's 600 meters in a time of 1:37.79, breaking the previous school mark of 1:38.42, set by Margo Stanforth in 2008.

Their performances Friday qualified both runners for the 2010 NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships.
