ORANGE CITY, Iowa -- Seventh-ranked Orange City Unity Christian rolled to an 84-57 victory over War Eagle Conference rival South O'Brien in a Class 2A boys district semifinal here Thursday night.
Jared Syndergaard, Ryan Brasser and Kyle Petrich each scored a dozen points for the Wolverines, but their team was never really in the game. They were down 15-1 four minutes into the game, and never got any closer.
Aaron Van Fugt scored 20 points to lead four Knights who scored in double figures. It was a disappointing end to the season for SOS, which finished with a 17-5 mark, with three of their losses coming at the hands of the Knights.
Unity (18-4) advanced to a district final on Tuesday at Sioux City North. Their opponent will be the winner of Saturday night's game between Odebolt-Arthur/Battle Creek-Ida Grove and East Sac County.
