The Early Childhood Learning Center (ECLC) is now accepting applications for the 2010-2011 school year.
If your child will be four-years-old by Sept. 15 they will be eligible to receive free preschool programming provided through the Cherokee Community School District.
The Cherokee Community School District was awarded state funds through the statewide voluntary preschool program for four-year-old children. The purpose of the statewide preschool program is to expand the opportunity for Iowa's young children to access quality preschool environments and enter school ready to learn.
The preschool classrooms are located in the ECLC building. The classrooms are led by teachers with four year bachelor's degrees in the area of early childhood education. The program uses High/Scope Curriculum.
The ECLC holds a morning and an afternoon session. Classes are held Monday through Friday, with two Fridays per month in which no classes are held due to home visits.
In-town transportation is provided by the Cherokee Community School District.
