Ruby A. Webb, 86,Cherokee, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, March 6, 2010.
Ruby was born December 3, 1923 at Archer to Francis (Roy) and Verna (McCorkel) Jenness. She grew up in the Archer area. She graduated from Washta High School in 1942. She was married to Lester P. Webb on February 14, 1948 at Quimby. She had lived in Primghar and Paullina, and in Cherokee since 1966. Ruby attended Western Iowa Technical College in 1971. She worked at Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital, was secretary of the WIT Nursing Dept. and was secretary for Dorr's Implement in rural Marcus. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, the Church Circle, a card club and birthday club, and was a 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star. She enjoyed time spent with her family, cooking, flowers, birds, and playing card and dice games.
She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Leta and Lloyd Jenness, brothers and sisters-in-laws Oliver & Marcella Jenness, Erwin Jenness, Virgil & Evangalene Jenness, Merritt Jenness, Howard & Darlene Jenness and Marlin Jenness; sisters and brothers-in-laws Reta & August Fuhrman and Geraldine & Paul Roby.
She is survived by her husband Lester, one daughter Rose Marie Webb of Des Moines, Iowa; one son Todd Webb and his wife Terri of Cherokee, Iowa; 8 grandchildren: Lisa Webb-Yi, Terry Webb-Yi, John Webb-Yi, Tracy Larsen, Kerri Vrooman, Mike Webb, Tanya Webb, Whitney Webb; 9 great grandchildren, one sister Lois Pflugard of Port Angeles, Washington; four sisters-in-law: Armeda Jenness of Kingsley, Iowa; Velma Jenness of Marcus, Iowa; Berna Jenness of Cherokee, Iowa; Karla Jenness of LeMars, Iowa; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law William and Rita Webb of Primghar, Iowa; many nieces and nephews.
