What kind of first impression does the Cherokee community make on others? Come to The Gathering Place at noon on Wednesday, March 31, to find out.
Last fall, the Cherokee Chamber of Commerce worked with Alliant Energy on a program they call "First Impressions." Cherokee was partnered with another community in Iowa, similar in size and region to us. That partner community was Atlantic.
Volunteers from Atlantic participated in unannounced visits to Cherokee, becoming "secret shoppers" for the day, to discover what they could about Cherokee. They looked at everything from business and industry to housing, schools, healthcare, parks and recreation, as well as the general appearance of the community.
Atlantic volunteers will reveal their findings to Cherokee residents at a community meeting on Wednesday, March 31 at noon at The Gathering Place. We invite all interested Chamber and Community members to join us to hear what they have to say.
We will serve a light lunch, and are asking for $5 at the door to help with expenses.
Please RSVP to the chamber at 225-6414, or e-mail to email@example.com by March 26, so that there are enough meals.
