No team scores were kept and no points awarded, as the teams journeyed into their first experimental competition of the season with little outside training due to winter's heavy snow and ice cover plaguing Northwest Iowa until the past few days.

Among the Braves top finishes were Kyle Schuck's second-place finish in the 55-meter hurdles in a time of 8.31, and Brock Dagel's second-place finish in the shot put with a solid 48-04 1/2 throw.

Sam Hinkhouse placed fourth in the 200 meters in a time of 25.06, and Nolan Sampson was fifth in the hjigh jump with a 5-10 effort. Schuck was sixth with a leap of 5-6, and Cody Stowater was sixth in the shot put with a 45-02 1/2 effort.

Sampson was 9th in the high hurdles in 8.75, and Alanzo Ruble was 10th in 9.27.

The Braves top relay finish was 11th in the 4x200, with Kyle Comstock, Marc Husman, Zac Taylor, and Lane Peterson clocking 1:48.39.

Cherokee's lead 4x200 relay of Sampson, Dan Bieber, Jakob Hummel, and Schuck was scuttled when Bieber went down with an injury on the second leg.

In the girls competition, Taylor Woods was second in the shot put with a throw of 34-9 1/2, Jackie Wilson was fourth in the 800 meters in a time of 2:56.11, and Yesenia Castro was fifth in the 800 in 2:56.57.
