On April 5, the River Valley Elementary School in Washta will be holding its Kindergarten Round-up. The public is invited to visit the kindergarten rooms and take part in activities during the morning.
The day begins at 9 a.m. in the library where everyone attending is encouraged to meet. Next year's kindergarteners will spend 9 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. in the kindergarten rooms to become acquainted with the teachers and things the potential kindergartners will be doing next year.
After that the kids will eat lunch at the school and go for a bus ride. Parents will be able to pick up the kids at noon in the school's library.
The parents will have the opportunity to meet with teachers and the principal from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. in the library. A review of the kindergarten program will be presented, along with what is expected of beginning students and services available to the parents.
The Kindergarten Round-up is an opportunity for parents to learn about how to enhance their children's health and academic achievement, as well as to ask questions they may have about the River Valley kindergarten program. For more information call 712-447-6318.
