LE MARS - Northwest Early Childhood Iowa, formerly known as NW Iowa Community Empowerment, will host its fifth annual Early Education Symposium from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, April 10 at the Le Mars Convention Center, Lower Level.
The Symposium focuses on engaging early childhood providers and giving them tools to help with the development of young children in home daycare, childcare centers, and preschool settings.
The opening keynote speaker will be Marty Wallace, a licensed Mental Health Counselor specializing in innovative registered play therapy.
There will be three break-out sessions for the Symposium, whose theme is "All Aboard the Exploration Express." Those sessions are "Come Aboard the Literacy Express" with Amy Popillion, "Sing Your Way Through the Day" with Julie Austin, and "What Are They Choo-Choo-Chewin & How Can We Keep Them Chugga-Chugga-Chuggin?" with Renae Buss.
The closing keynote speaker will be Austin, an Early Childhood Consultant, whose blend of humor, energy, and children's music will make her an audience favorite.
Early registration is encouraged, although walk-ins are welcome.
